My Disney Experience

If you've read my first blog, you'll have learned that I'm obsessed with Disney. So much so that, I've even completed the Disney College Program. For anyone unfamiliar, the Disney College Program is a program in which Disney provides an opportunity for college students to work at Walt Disney World or Disneyland in various cast member positions.

It's basically an opportunity to get paid to live, eat, and sleep for the Mouse and enjoy the benefits that cast members receive such as unlimited part access for yourself and a number of benefits for family/friends. The program houses you, rent comes out of your check weekly, and you get to network professionally with other college-aged participants as well as Disney professionals. For more information check out the Disney College Program website.

Not only was it a great chance to network, filled with professional growth in one of the most stress-filled environments that you could possibly imagine - it also provide an amazing chance to meet people from all over the world and build lifelong friendships. They provide exciting educational opportunities on-site as well as fun non-work related events in the Orlando community and throughout Florida, where I completed my program. It's also a great way to great a break from the college scene and still take some online classes if you're able to. I remember many days filled with insanely crowded stores (I was a retail cast member) with barely enough room to walk as well as the beautiful and impactful smile you'd get from most clients as you filled their day with just a pinch of magic. Making magic for guests in my home park and really any shop I worked in was honestly the best part of the program and gave me such an amazing feeling.

This experience demonstrated to me, what it really means to provide quality customer service and this is something that I work towards giving anyone I work with - both as a travel agent as well as a social worker. It showed me just how much going a little further for someone can have a huge impact on them and their experience.

If you are or have a college-aged Disney fanatic in your family who's driven I highly recommend they participate in this fantastic program!

Thanks for reading yall!
